What We Service

Comprehensive Hamilton care — from H-10 calibre overhaul to Khaki aviation chronograph service.

⚙️
Full Movement Overhaul

Complete disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, and reassembly of the H-10, H-30, H-31, H-40, or ETA-based Hamilton movement. Includes timing regulation. H-10 power reserve verified against its rated 80-hour specification. From S$250.

⏱️
Chronograph Service — X-Wind

The Khaki Aviation X-Wind uses the Valjoux 7750 self-winding chronograph — a robust workhorse that nonetheless requires specialist lubrication of the column wheel, coupling levers, and reset hammers. Quoted individually after assessment.

🔋
Battery Replacement

All quartz Hamilton models: Ventura, Jazzmaster quartz, and vintage Pulsar references. Swiss Renata battery fitted. Battery leakage and contact inspection included. Gasket checked. Waterproof tested before and after — done while you wait. From S$20.

💎
Crystal Replacement

Hamilton uses sapphire crystals on most Khaki and Jazzmaster models. We source the correct crystal profile — flat for Khaki Field, domed for Jazzmaster Maestro, curved for Ventura's distinctive shape. Quote after inspection.

🌊
Water Resistance Restoration

Khaki Navy Scuba (100m) and Khaki Field (50m) water resistance restored by replacing all case gaskets and pressure-testing to rated depth. Opening the case for any service breaks the factory seal — we always retest before handing the watch back.

🕰️
Vintage Military Hamilton

Hamilton has supplied military field watches and aviation chronographs since World War II. Vintage calibres — ETA 2750, ETA 2783, ETA 2801, and earlier — are serviceable and parts are generally available. All vintage Hamilton references welcome. Price on assessment.

Bracelet & Strap Service

Khaki Field mesh strap, Jazzmaster leather, Ventura bracelet link adjustment, NATO strap fitting. All quoted after inspection of current condition.

Why Choose watchrepair.com.sg

Six reasons Hamilton owners in Singapore trust us with their watches.

01
H-10 Calibre Expertise

Hamilton's H-10 delivers an 80-hour power reserve — we verify this specification is fully restored after service. If it's not reaching 78+ hours, we investigate why before returning the watch.

02
Written Quote Before Any Work

Free assessment. Written quote. You approve before we open the case. The price you approved is the price you pay — no hidden charges on collection.

03
Significantly More Affordable

Authorised Hamilton service centres charge a significant premium. Our independent workshop delivers professional-standard service at substantially lower cost, with faster turnaround.

05

06
Vintage Military Hamilton Welcome

WWII-era field watches, Cold War aviation chronographs, early Khaki references — all welcome. Vintage Hamilton movements are robust and well-supported. Price on assessment.

How Often Should You Service Your Hamilton?

Hamilton recommends a full service every 5–7 years for automatic models. In Singapore's tropical humidity, the lower end of that range is wiser — case gaskets and lubricants degrade faster in heat and moisture. Quartz models with a battery should have the battery checked every 2–3 years, with the case seals inspected at the same time.

Signs Your Hamilton Needs Servicing

Don't wait for a complete failure. Have your Hamilton assessed if you notice: accuracy drifting beyond ±15 seconds per day, the H-10 not reaching its rated power reserve of around 80 hours, a stiff or scratchy crown, visible moisture or condensation inside the crystal, or the second hand jumping erratically on a quartz model. Any of these signals something inside needs attention.

The H-10 Calibre — Hamilton's 80-Hour Achievement

Hamilton's H-10 is the heart of the Khaki Field Auto and Murph. It delivers a rated 80-hour power reserve — significantly longer than the standard 42-hour automatic — thanks to its twin barrel design. This is a genuine competitive advantage for anyone who takes off their watch on weekends; you'll return Monday morning to a watch that's still running.

Servicing the H-10 requires understanding the twin-barrel system: both barrels must be cleaned, inspected, and lubricated independently, and the power reserve indicator (where fitted) must be calibrated to read accurately after reassembly. We verify the full 78–80 hour power reserve is restored before returning any H-10 watch.

American Roots, Swiss Precision — Hamilton's Heritage

Founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1892, Hamilton originally made pocket watches for American railroads, where accuracy was a matter of safety. The brand moved production to Switzerland in 1969 (following the Swatch Group acquisition in 1974) but retained its American design language — bold, functional, cinematic. Hamilton watches have appeared in over 500 films including 2001: A Space Odyssey, Interstellar, Men in Black, and Pulp Fiction.

This heritage matters for servicing: vintage Hamilton movements (pre-Swiss era) were often made to robust American tolerances with parts still available through the specialist watchmaker network. If you have a vintage field watch or early Khaki reference, bring it in — these are often very serviceable even decades on.

Valjoux 7750 in the Khaki Aviation X-Wind

The Khaki Aviation X-Wind uses the Valjoux 7750, a proven Swiss self-winding chronograph movement. Servicing it correctly requires individual attention to the column wheel, vertical coupling lever, horizontal wheel, and reset hammer — each with its own lubrication point. The 7750 is robust but oil-sensitive: wrong lubrication causes the chronograph to slip or stick. We service 7750 chronographs regularly.

Independent Service vs. Authorised Centre

Authorised Hamilton service centres are backed by the manufacturer but carry a significant price premium and longer turnaround. If your Hamilton is under its manufacturer's warranty, use the authorised centre to preserve it. For out-of-warranty watches, an experienced independent workshop provides the same professional standard at substantially lower cost — typically 7–14 working days versus 6–12 weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Hamilton watch servicing in Singapore.

How much does Hamilton servicing cost in Singapore?

Movement overhaul starts from S$250 — exact quote confirmed after assessment, as price depends on the calibre (H-10, H-30, ETA-based, or Valjoux 7750 chronograph), complication level, and condition. Battery replacement starts from S$20. Crystal replacement and water resistance testing are quoted after inspection. Authorised Hamilton service centres charge a significant premium.

How long does a Hamilton service take?

Battery replacement is done while you wait. Movement overhaul typically takes 7–14 working days. Chronograph service (Khaki Aviation X-Wind, Valjoux 7750) takes 14–21 working days due to the additional chronograph module. Crystal replacement: 1–3 working days.

How often should I service my Hamilton?

Every 5–7 years for automatic Hamilton watches. Quartz models: replace battery every 2–3 years and have seals inspected at the same time. Signs it needs service: losing or gaining more than ±15 sec/day, the H-10 not reaching its rated 80-hour power reserve, stiff crown, inconsistent timing, or any moisture inside the crystal.

Which Hamilton calibres can you service?

We service all Hamilton calibres including the H-10 (80-hour power reserve), H-30, H-31, H-32, H-40 automatic family, Valjoux 7750 in the Khaki Aviation X-Wind, ETA 2824 and ETA 2892-based movements in older references, and vintage calibres (ETA 2750, ETA 2783, ETA 2801) in military and early Khaki references. All Hamilton quartz movements are also covered.

Are you an authorised Hamilton service centre?

No — we are an independent watch repair workshop. If your Hamilton is still under its manufacturer's warranty, we recommend contacting Hamilton directly to preserve warranty coverage. For out-of-warranty watches, an independent workshop delivers professional-standard service at significantly lower cost and with faster turnaround.

Which Hamilton models do you service?

We service the full Hamilton range: Khaki Field Auto, Khaki Field Titanium, Khaki Field Mechanical, Khaki Aviation X-Wind, Khaki Aviation Converter, Khaki Navy Scuba, Khaki Navy GMT, Jazzmaster Auto, Jazzmaster Skeleton, Jazzmaster Maestro, Ventura, Ventura Elvis80, American Classic Intra-Matic, Murph, and vintage military Hamilton references.

Can you service vintage Hamilton military watches?

Yes. Hamilton has a rich military history — supplying field watches and aviation chronographs from World War II through the Cold War era. Vintage Hamilton movements (ETA 2750, ETA 2783, ETA 2801, and earlier calibres) are fully serviceable and parts are generally available through the specialist network. Price on assessment — bring it in for a free inspection.

My Khaki Navy Scuba is leaking — can you fix it?

Yes. The Khaki Navy Scuba is rated to 100m water resistance. Leaks typically occur through a deteriorated crown gasket, caseback seal, or crystal seal. We replace the worn gaskets, inspect the case for damage, and pressure-test to rated depth after reassembly. If water has already entered the movement, we recommend a full movement service to clear any corrosion before it spreads.
