What We Service

Co-Axial escapement, Master Chronometer calibres, Speedmaster, divers — every Omega service done in-house.

⚙️
Co-Axial Escapement Service

Omega's Co-Axial escapement uses three locking surfaces instead of two, reducing sliding friction that degrades lubricants. Correct disassembly and reassembly of the Co-Axial wheel and pallet requires specific knowledge and tooling. We service all Co-Axial calibres in-house and verify escapement geometry after every reassembly.

🏆
Master Chronometer Calibre Service

Master Chronometer calibres (Cal 8800, 8900, 9900) are METAS-certified to -0/+5 sec/day accuracy in 8 positions and in a 15,000-gauss magnetic field. We service these movements in-house and regulate to the highest accuracy the calibre supports. Cal 9300/9901 chronograph service quoted individually.

🚀
Speedmaster Professional Service

The Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch runs on Cal 1861 — a manually wound column-wheel chronograph descended from the legendary Lemania 1873. Rugged, reliable, and fully serviceable in-house. We also service the Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon (Cal 9300 Co-Axial Chronograph) and all Speedmaster variants.

🌊
Seamaster & Planet Ocean Diver Service

Seamaster 300m is rated to 300m; Planet Ocean to 600m. We replace all crown and caseback gaskets and pressure-test to rated depth after every service. The helium escape valve (Planet Ocean) is inspected and replaced if needed. Don't wear a Seamaster or Planet Ocean near water without a post-service pressure test.

🕰️
Vintage Omega Service

Vintage Omega movements — Cal 321, 861, 565, 1012, 1030 — are among the most collectable calibres in watchmaking. The Cal 321 column-wheel chronograph (original Speedmaster movement) is especially serviceable decades on. We source vintage Omega parts through our specialist network. Price on assessment.

🔍
Free Assessment

Walk in with your Omega — our watchmaker checks the movement, case, crystal, and water resistance at no charge. Calibre identified, complications noted, condition assessed. Written quote before any work begins. No commitment required.

Our 10-Step Omega Servicing Process

Every Omega goes through the same thorough process — from initial assessment to final pressure test.

01

Initial Assessment

Calibre identified. Co-Axial or traditional escapement noted. Complications catalogued. Movement, case, crystal, and bracelet condition assessed. Written quote before we open anything.

02

Pre-Service Pressure Test

We test existing water resistance before opening the case — important for Seamaster and Planet Ocean owners. Tells us condition of current seals and whether gaskets need replacement.

03

Movement Disassembly

The movement is fully disassembled — every wheel, pinion, jewel, Co-Axial wheel, and lever separated. Co-Axial components are handled with the specific care the geometry requires.

04

Ultrasonic Cleaning

All metal components ultrasonically cleaned in specialist watch cleaning solution. High-frequency sound waves remove dried lubricant and contaminants from surfaces no tool can reach.

05

Component Inspection

Every part examined under magnification. Co-Axial wheel locking surfaces, pallet stone condition, pivot wear, and jewel condition all assessed. Worn or damaged parts replaced.

06

Lubrication & Reassembly

Each component receives the correct lubricant — escapement, gear train, and keyless work all require different oils. Co-Axial escapement geometry verified on reassembly.

07

Timing Regulation

Balance wheel regulated on a timing machine across six positions. COSC-spec movements regulated to ±4 sec/day; Master Chronometer calibres regulated to METAS spec. Results recorded.

08

Case & Bracelet Cleaning

Case, caseback, and bracelet ultrasonically cleaned. Polishing available on request — we advise whether it's appropriate for your specific Omega before proceeding.

09

Gasket Replacement & Reassembly

Crown, caseback, and crystal gaskets replaced as standard. Helium escape valve (Planet Ocean) inspected. Case reassembled with correct torque to restore factory water resistance.

10

Post-Service Pressure Test

Watch pressure-tested to rated depth — 300m for Seamaster, 600m for Planet Ocean. Result shown to you at collection. If it fails, we fix the cause before return — no exceptions.

Omega Co-Axial Escapement — What It Means for Your Service

Omega introduced the Co-Axial escapement in 1999, developed from the work of British watchmaker George Daniels. The traditional Swiss lever escapement relies on sliding friction between the pallet stones and escape wheel teeth — this friction degrades lubricants and is the primary reason mechanical watches need periodic service. The Co-Axial eliminates most of this sliding friction by using three locking surfaces, allowing energy transfer with far less friction and lubricant consumption.

In practical terms, Co-Axial movements hold accuracy for longer between services. However, the gear train lubricants still degrade over time, and Singapore's humidity accelerates this. A Co-Axial movement still needs service on schedule — it simply holds accuracy better between services than a comparable movement with a traditional escapement.

Speedmaster Professional — The Manual Wind Moonwatch

The Speedmaster Professional "Moonwatch" runs on Cal 1861 — a development of the Lemania 1873 column-wheel chronograph that first went to the moon in 1969 as Cal 321. The 1861 is manually wound, a deliberate choice by Omega to preserve the character of the original. It is one of the most rugged and well-made chronograph movements ever produced and is fully serviceable to a high standard. For owners of pre-Moon and early Speedmaster references with the original Cal 321, we source parts through our specialist network.

Planet Ocean & Seamaster 300m — Pressure Testing Explained

Every time a watch case is opened — for any reason — the factory seal is broken. Without replacing the gaskets and pressure-testing to the rated specification, the watch may look fine while being vulnerable to water ingress at depth. We replace crown, caseback, and where applicable crystal gaskets, and test Seamaster 300m to 300m and Planet Ocean to 600m after every service. We show you the result at collection.

How Often Should You Service Your Omega?

Every 5 years in Singapore. Signs your Omega needs service: accuracy drifting beyond ±10 sec/day (±5 for Master Chronometer), a stiff or sticky crown, power reserve shorter than it used to be, or any moisture visible under the crystal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Omega watch servicing in Singapore.

How much does Omega watch servicing cost in Singapore?

Omega watch servicing starts from S$390. Cal 1861 (Speedmaster manual) and ETA-based calibres from S$390. Co-Axial calibres (Cal 8500, 8800, 9300, Master Chronometer) are quoted after assessment — complication and condition affect the price. Written quote confirmed before any work begins.

How long does Omega servicing take in Singapore?

Movement overhaul takes 10–21 working days. Cal 1861 and ETA-based calibres: 10–14 working days. Co-Axial calibres (Cal 8500, 8800): 14–21 working days. Cal 9300 chronograph and Master Chronometer chronograph (Cal 9900): quoted individually and may take longer.

How often should I service my Omega?

Every 5 years in Singapore. Co-Axial movements hold accuracy longer between services, but gear train lubricants still degrade — and Singapore's humidity accelerates this. Signs it needs service: losing more than ±10 sec/day (±5 for Master Chronometer), stiff crown, reduced power reserve, or moisture under the crystal.

What is the Omega Co-Axial escapement and why does it matter for servicing?

The Co-Axial escapement reduces sliding friction in the escapement — the main cause of lubricant degradation in traditional Swiss lever movements. This means Co-Axial watches hold accuracy longer between services. However, Co-Axial calibres require specific tooling and knowledge to service correctly — the Co-Axial wheel and pallet geometry must be set correctly on reassembly. We service all Co-Axial calibres in-house.

Which Omega calibres can you service?

We service all Omega calibres: Cal 8500/8501/8508, Cal 8800/8801/8900/8901 (Master Chronometer), Cal 9300/9301 (Co-Axial Chronograph), Cal 9900/9901 (Master Chronometer Chronograph), Cal 1861/1863 (Speedmaster manual), Cal 2500, Cal 3330, and vintage calibres including Cal 321, 861, 565, 1012, and 1030.

Which Omega models do you service?

Seamaster 300m Diver, Seamaster Aqua Terra, Planet Ocean 600m, Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon, Speedmaster 38mm, De Ville Prestige, De Ville Tresor, De Ville Hour Vision, Constellation, Globemaster, Railmaster, and all vintage Omega including Seamaster 300 and Constellation pie-pan dial.

Can you pressure test my Omega Planet Ocean or Seamaster 300m?

Yes — and we do it as standard after every service. Seamaster 300m tested to 300m, Planet Ocean to 600m. We replace all crown and caseback gaskets and show you the result at collection. If the test fails, we fix the cause before return at no extra charge.

Are you an authorised Omega service centre?

No — we are an independent workshop. For watches under warranty, contact Omega directly. For out-of-warranty watches, independent service delivers professional quality at significantly lower cost with turnaround of 10–21 working days versus 3–6 months at authorised centres.
