Is your watch running too fast, too slow, or not keeping accurate time? At WatchRepair.com.sg, we provide professional watch calibration service in Singapore for automatic, mechanical and quartz watches.
Watch calibration helps improve timing accuracy by checking the watch movement, testing its performance and making careful adjustments where possible. If your watch is losing or gaining time every day, it may need calibration, servicing, or movement repair.
What Is Watch Calibration?
Watch calibration is the process of checking and adjusting the accuracy of a watch. For mechanical and automatic watches, this may involve timing regulation and movement performance testing. For quartz watches, calibration may involve checking the circuit, coil, battery power, movement condition and contact points.
Not every inaccurate watch only needs adjustment. Sometimes poor accuracy is caused by dry oil, worn parts, magnetism, weak battery, moisture damage, shock damage or movement wear. We will inspect the watch before advising the correct solution.
Common Signs Your Watch Needs Calibration
- Watch is running fast
- Watch is running slow
- Automatic watch loses time overnight
- Mechanical watch timing is unstable
- Watch stops even after winding or wearing
- Quartz watch is not keeping accurate time
- Watch became inaccurate after a drop or impact
- Watch may be magnetised
Automatic & Mechanical Watch Calibration
Automatic and mechanical watches are sensitive to movement condition, oiling, balance performance and position. We check the watch timing and movement condition before adjusting it. If the movement is dry, dirty or worn, a full service may be recommended instead of simple calibration.
We handle many Swiss and Japanese mechanical watches, including Rolex, Omega, TAG Heuer, Longines, Tudor, Oris, Seiko, Tissot, Cartier, Panerai, IWC and more.
Important: Calibration Is Not Always a Full Repair
If your watch movement is in good condition, timing adjustment may help improve accuracy. However, if the watch has dried oil, worn parts, weak amplitude, rust, moisture damage or battery leakage, calibration alone may not solve the problem.
Our technician will check the condition and advise whether calibration, demagnetization, battery replacement, movement repair or full servicing is more suitable.
Quartz Watch Accuracy Check
For quartz watches, poor timekeeping can be caused by weak battery power, battery leakage, dirty contacts, faulty circuit, damaged coil or movement wear. We check the battery and movement condition before replacing or servicing the parts.
For battery replacement jobs, we also check for battery leakage and clean the contacts when required. Waterproof testing is available where applicable.
