Everything you want to know before bringing in your watch.
Can you replace the battery in my Seiko quartz watch?
Yes — Seiko battery replacement starts from S$20. We fit a Maxell or Sony/Murata cell (the same brands used in Seiko's factory servicing), inspect for battery leakage on the contact points, check the crown and caseback gaskets, and waterproof-test before and after. Done while you wait — usually 15 to 30 minutes. If you have a Seiko 5 Sports, Prospex, or any quartz Seiko model, just walk in anytime during our opening hours.
Can you replace a Kinetic capacitor or solar cell?
Yes — both are services we offer at our Chinatown workshop. A Kinetic capacitor replacement costs S$50–S$60 (covers 5M, 5J, and 7D calibre Kinetic models). The capacitor is the rechargeable cell that stores energy from wrist movement — when it degrades, the watch won't hold charge for more than a few seconds even after being worn all day. We replace the capacitor, check the rotor's charging efficiency, and verify the power reserve is restored to spec. For Seiko Solar models (V157, V172, V174 calibres), the secondary storage cell can fail after 10+ years. We replace it, confirm the solar panel charges correctly, and test the overcharge protection. Solar cell service is also S$50–S$60. WhatsApp us your model reference for a quick confirmation before coming in.
How much does Seiko repair cost in Singapore?
Mechanical movement overhaul starts from S$100. Battery replacement from S$20. Kinetic capacitor and solar cell replacement S$50–S$60. Crystal replacement, crown and stem repair, and chronograph servicing are each quoted individually after a free inspection — always confirmed with you before any work begins.
How long does Seiko servicing take?
Minor repairs such as crown and stem work or crystal replacement can often be completed within a few days. Full mechanical movement overhauls — whether it's an NH35, NH36, 6R15, or 6R55 — typically take 7–10 working days. Chronograph servicing timelines are confirmed at the point of assessment. We'll give you a clear collection date when you drop off your watch.
Where are you located, and how do I get there?
We're at People's Park Complex #03-62, Singapore — a one-minute walk from Chinatown MRT Station, Exit C. By car, there's parking within the complex. We're open daily from 1:30PM to 7:00PM, including weekends and public holidays.
Which Seiko models do you service?
We service all Seiko models including the Prospex, Presage, 5 Sports (SRPD/SRPE), Turtle, Alpinist, Marinemaster, Astron, Grand Seiko, and vintage references like the 6105 Diver and King Seiko — across NH, 6R, and 8L calibres. If you're unsure whether we can help with a specific reference, just WhatsApp us.
Do I need an appointment?
No appointment is needed for a free assessment. Walk in anytime during our opening hours (1:30PM–7PM daily) and we'll look at your Seiko on the spot and give you a quote. For confirmed repairs, we'll agree a collection date at the time of drop-off.
How often should I service my Seiko?
Seiko recommends a full service every 3–5 years for mechanical and automatic watches under regular wear. If your watch uses an NH or 6R movement and is worn daily, a 3-year service cycle keeps the lubricants fresh and tolerances tight. Quartz and Astron solar models typically need a battery or capacitor check every 2–3 years. If you notice timekeeping drift, a reluctant winding rotor, moisture inside the crystal, or a stiff crown, bring it in promptly.
Will servicing my Seiko here affect its value?
A well-documented service history supports value regardless of where the work was carried out. We provide a written record of all work completed. We do not alter original parts unless necessary, and we always flag any original components before replacing them — allowing you to decide. We never recommend unnecessary work, and we understand the collector value of vintage Seiko references.
