How to Choose Where to Repair Your Watch in Singapore

Not every watch repair shop in Singapore is the same. Before you hand over your watch, check for these four things.

1. Brand-specific tools

Every watch has a specific case back type — screw-down, snap-back, or integrated. The right Jaxa spanner or press die matters. A universal tool forced into the wrong slot scratches the case permanently.

2. Written quote before work

A reputable shop quotes you in writing and waits for your approval before opening the watch. If a shop opens the watch "to take a look" before giving a price, walk away.

3. Water resistance testing

Any repair that opens the case — battery change, crystal, crown — must be followed by a pressure test. Without it, your "water-resistant" watch may no longer be sealed after the repair.

4. Movement experience

For mechanical repairs, ask if they have experience with your specific calibre. A watchmaker who has serviced your model before knows the common failure points and correct lubrication schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I repair my watch in Singapore? +

WatchRepair.com.sg at People's Park Complex #03-62 is open daily 1:30pm–7pm, no appointment needed. We service over 50 brands — Swiss, Japanese, and fashion. Battery replacement from S$15, movement overhaul from S$100. 1 minute from Chinatown MRT Exit C.

How much does it cost to repair a watch in Singapore? +

Battery replacement from S$15. Crystal replacement from S$50. Crown and stem repair from S$40. Japanese movement overhaul from S$100. Swiss mid-range (Tissot, Hamilton, Longines) from S$200–S$330. Swiss luxury (Rolex, Omega, TAG Heuer) from S$390–S$450. All prices confirmed before work begins.

Is it worth repairing a watch in Singapore? +

For most quality watches — especially Swiss mechanical watches — repair is absolutely worth it. A well-serviced movement can last decades. A S$390 overhaul on a Rolex that cost S$10,000+ is a sensible maintenance investment. For fashion watches under S$200, it depends on the repair cost vs. replacement cost — we will advise honestly at the free assessment.

How long does watch repair take in Singapore? +

Battery replacement and minor adjustments: while you wait (15–30 min). Crystal and crown repairs: 1–3 working days. Japanese movement overhaul: 5–7 working days. Swiss movement overhaul: 7–14 working days. We give you a confirmed collection date at drop-off.

Where can I repair a Rolex watch in Singapore without going to the Rolex service centre? +

WatchRepair.com.sg at People's Park Complex services all Rolex references — Submariner, Datejust, GMT-Master, Daytona, Explorer, and more. Full movement overhaul from S$390–S$450. We are an independent workshop, not authorised by Rolex. For watches under manufacturer warranty, contact Rolex directly to preserve it.

Can I walk in to repair my watch without booking an appointment? +

Yes. Walk in any day 1:30pm–7pm at People's Park Complex #03-62. For battery replacements and minor repairs we can often help immediately. For movement overhauls, we do a free assessment on the spot and give you a written quote and collection date.

Should I repair my watch at an authorised service centre or independent watchmaker? +

If your watch is under original manufacturer warranty, use the brand's authorised service centre to preserve it. For out-of-warranty watches — which is the majority — an independent watchmaker delivers professional results at significantly lower cost and faster turnaround. We are not affiliated with any brand and cannot service under-warranty watches on behalf of brands.

Where can I repair a Seiko or G-Shock watch in Singapore? +

WatchRepair.com.sg handles all Seiko references and all G-Shock / Baby-G models. G-Shock battery replacement includes an AC module reset (so all functions work correctly) and a 200M pressure test. Seiko movement overhaul from S$100. Battery replacement from S$15. Walk in at People's Park Complex #03-62.

My watch stopped — do I need a battery or a full service? +

For quartz watches: usually a battery. For mechanical watches: usually oils drying out (a service). A quartz watch stopping intermittently or a seconds hand jumping in 2-second steps signals a low battery — replace it promptly before it leaks. A mechanical watch losing time significantly or stopping after wearing all day typically needs a movement service. Bring it in for a free assessment — no obligation.

Where is People's Park Complex and how do I get there? +

People's Park Complex is at 1 Park Road, Singapore 059108 — in Chinatown, central Singapore. From Chinatown MRT Station (NE4/DT19), take Exit C and walk straight ahead — it is under 1 minute. We are on the 3rd floor, #03-62. Parking is available in the complex basement. Open daily 1:30pm–7pm.
